Oscillating biochemical and biomimetic reactions

Biological cells are characterized by compartmentalization. This means that there is a spatial separation of different types of reaction. Often there is an interaction between the (bio-) chemical reaction processing in the compartment and the surrounding (and forming) membrane, which can lead to the functionality. On the basis of the model reactions that take place in the membrane- and tenside-stabilised compartments we do research on the types of linkages between the reaction in compartments and the compartment shell. We are also investigating how this interaction can lead to self-organization of comprised systems.
